Authors, Editors and Designers
Booktrope is a great way for authors to reach readers because them allows them easy access to your work. I found that when people like the book they are more than happy to pay for it. It’s great for both readers and writers.
Booktrope is amazing – they really care about their writers and making them happy. I have never worked with a better publisher. Period.
—Brian McDonald, author of Invisible Ink and The Golden Theme
What every author longs for is a publisher who will help them produce the best possible product, from editing through cover art, and then to make the book available in multiple formats, and provide publicity to get the book and author known to the public. Booktrope does a fantastic job in being a partner to the author and an advocate for his or her book.
—Terry Persun, author of the award-winning novel, Wolf's Rite.
Booktrope—a new approach to creating and marketing great books
Looking for an alternative to traditional publishing houses but something with better support than self publishing? Booktrope’s new streamlined approach preserves the important parts of the publisher’s role while reducing overhead and taking advantage of the new opportunities for marketing books online. Before you read any further, let’s be clear on one important issue; we are not a self-publishing operation. Therefore, at Booktrope we do not charge authors to publish nor do we accept all submissions. However, as the new kid on the block, we are looking for new and exceptional talent, and we hope you will evaluate us as part of your query process!
Traditional publishers and booksellers are hurting in today’s economy. Many great books go unpublished and many great books that are in print generate low or no sales due to the difficulty in marketing books in traditional ways and the declining number of bookstores.
Booktrope has a new model that allows books to be published and promoted focusing on online communities and readers. The books go up on our website for everyone to read – just as if you were reading them in a bookstore or library. At the same time, a Booktrope “Book Manager” promotes and markets each book both in online communities and through more traditional activities such as author speaking engagements. We produce high quality printed books and ebooks for Kindle, Nook and other platforms.
Team Publishing
Booktrope team publishing works like this: each book has a creative team including the roles of author, editor and designer. The creative team works closely with the book manager. Everyone on the team works on a royalty basis. Since our overhead is low, royalties for the team can be higher than under traditional publishing models.
Please contact us at publisher@booktrope.com if you’re an Author, Editor, or Designer interested in working within our model or if you are interested in working as a Book Manager to promote and market great books from Booktrope. Please note that we do not require representation by an agent for consideration
