Anyone who doubts that Carl Jung has plenty to teach us in understanding our own family dynamics and culture should check out this book, which subjects the Biblical binding of Issac story to Jungian analysis. Abraham sets off with his beloved son as a human sacrifice. Author's first question: Is he psychotic? Well, let's see. Although this book seems to be of particular interest to people who are interested in the Hebrew Bible, the author (Henry Abramovitch) shows how much of the Bible's parenting patterns, unfortunately, endure. A treasure.
