See my comments for Six Arguments for a Greener Diet! No matter what your religion, it is dangerous and cruel to eat animals bred in factory farms. How much risk and horror will you endure to save a few pennies on a meal?

I'm Jewish but not Observant
I've never been kosher b/c it seems like so much trouble and I don't b believe it would make me a better Jew or in any way holier. But I think it's interesting that people who do keep kosher go to so much trouble to know where their food comes from -- this is good -- and at the same time most of them eat meat that comes from some kind of factory farm. So this book is a great wake-up call that living according to Jewish values requires more complex thinking than obeying rules about diet.
